Degroux Brugère advised Breega, as lead sponsor, on the fund-raising by Ensol, a French start-up specializing in residential solar energy. The €14 million deal marks a strategic step in Ensol’s development, as it strives to democratize access to solar energy in France.
The deal consists of 6 million euros in capital, raised from Breega, the lead investor in this financing round, with the participation of impact funds Endgame and Watermelon, as well as several business angels. It is completed by 8 million euros in debt, contributed by the Terra Nea investment fund – managed by Andera Partners – dedicated to the ecological transition in the South of France, and by the Enerfip participative investment platform, specialized in financing the energy transition.
This funding will enable Ensol to accelerate its regional deployment, strengthen its proprietary technology and offer an innovative solar rental service accessible to a larger number of French households.
Our venture capital team, which advised Breega on the legal aspects of the transaction, comprised Jérémie Swiecznik, partner in the Transactional Department, Benoît Courtet, counsel, and Maxim Khlopotin, associate.
